Color Sorting Activity
This is a simple sorting activity to help reinforce colors and organization.
(2) Construction paper
Colored objects – toys, household items
Nothing fancy here – We are just using the pizza boxes from last night’s dinner to make our color sorting boxes – any old boxes will do. To begin, we removed the lids from our pizza boxes. Then we turned the boxes inside-out (not at all necessary, we just didn’t want to see the grease spots in our pictures).
Next, choose two sheets of colored construction paper and place one in each of your boxes. We selected orange and blue, but any color is fine.
Help your little ones collect objects from around the house that match your box colors. Then ask your children to sort the collected objects into the matching colored box.
Add boxes and substitute colors.
